Personalized Sound Effects

There are three sound effects in comics that you can see in print, and without any other information, immediately recognize who it belongs to.

"Snikt"
"Bamf"
And "Thwip"

Does that seem fair to you? In all of comicdom, only three characters have sound effects of their very own? And two of them are filthy, disgusting mutants?

So here's my challenge. Give a distinct sound effect for your favorite characters' powers. Iron Man's repulsor ray. Bruce Banner's transformation into the Hulk. Green Lantern creating a ring construct. And originality counts, people, so don't gimme any of that "Zap!" business.

Here's my contribution. Captain America throwing his mighty shield: SHWI-WI-WI-WI-WI-WI-WANG!!! (The number of "WI's" is optional, depending on the distance between Steve and the target)

Okay, I've set the bar prettly low. So let's hear 'em!

Two of them ARE filthy mutants, you're right. And third is that blasted wall-crawler! He's a menace, you know. I read it in the Bugle, so it must be true.

Sticking with Avengers who can't hold on to stuff, here's Thor throwing his hammer most powerful,lo and forsooth: WOOM-WOOM-WOOM-VWHOOSH (each "WOOM" is him whirling it about for one rotation. Add or subtract as necessary)

The magic lightning bolt that turns Billy Batson into Captain Marvel: SHA-ZAMMM! (Obvious, I know. This coming up with sound effects ain't easy y'know)

And one more, Guy Gardner going into action: WE'RE DOOMED!

Actually, I think a better known sound effect for Thor's hammer would be THRAKA-KOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!! (the amount of "O's" depends on how hard the strike is.)

Gotta love John Workman's stuff during the Simonson era of Thor. ;-)

I agree with you on the hammer sfx, but that has more to do with it hitting stuff, doesn't it? I'm talking about the whipping through the air action. I don't recall ever seeing a sound effect attached to that (And I just pulled out a hadful of Thors to check)

All of these sound effects are overly lengthy. The original three are one-syllable works of greatness.

I nominate FWASH! for Human Torch flaming on, and maybe KROOM! for a trademark Thing punch.
